Amit started learning music at the age of eight at Gostha Bihari Sangeet Sikhayatan and from many great teachers like Bidushi Chameli Roy, Pt Karunamoy Das, Prof Sukumar Moitra, Ustad Hussain Bakhsh. Amit mainly belongs to Patiala Gharana but also try to assimilate great things from other Gharanas as well.
Amit was awarded “Sangeet Bhusan” from Pracheen Kala Kendra (Chandigarh University) and has had numerous concerts in India, Europe and USA.
